A woman in a hat and casual clothes is holding a microphone and a large check, standing on a dirt ground in front of a backdrop with logos of Fat Tire, Foco Fundo, and a yellow 'F' inside a blue circle. There are winners' podiums numbered 1, 2, and 3, and a black van on the right side. Another person is standing off to the side with a bicycle and a laptop.

By starting with children and the trip to school, communities become safe places for everyone to walk and bike. By creating safe places for everyone, communities take a major step towards meeting the national goal of ending traffic deaths on roads.

We couldn’t agree more with Safe Routes to School’s mission, and we put our money where our mouth is by donating $5000 to Safe Routes to School every year. These funds have been given unrestricted and they have used them in all sorts of ways: after-school bike clubs, geared fleets of bikes for middle-schoolers and elementary school kids, a trailer for storing equipment and serving more students, helmets, and mechanics in low-income apartment complexes to repair kids bikes. In 2024 & 2025, our donations have helped purchase adaptive bikes for students. In 2025, Safe Routes served 80 students with disabilities in adaptive-bicycling programming and in 2026, their goal is to serve 100 with their expanded adaptive fleet.

This partnership pre-dates our non-profit! In total, we’ve been able to provide over $30,000 of donations since our partnership began in 2018.

Kids 12-and-under receive free entries to FoCo Fondo (with accompanying, paid adult), and teens are half-priced.
